πŸ† GE 2020 Day 1: Nominations Day

πŸ† GE 2020 Day 1: Nominations Day

Extract from Author

This General Elections is different. It has already started quite differently. Nominations Day was without the carnival feel of flags unfurling and slogan chanting. With everyone’s faces behind masks, and the artificial barrier called social distancing, one cannot help but feel that we have lost an integral part of what it means to go to the polls. With the spectre of the COVID-19 pandemic looming large, it will be interesting to see how everyone copes with GE2020.

Author’s Reflection

What is your personal takeaway from your SOAP story?
Politics is impervious to pandemics. :)

Now that your story has been published for some time, do you have any reflections to share post-publishing?
Photographs that witness history are all the more important in times of pandemic, when everyone is homebound and eager to see a side of the truth they cannot otherwise see for themselves.

What did you hope to convey to readers through this story?
That we have to make right and responsible decisions, pandemic or not.

How do you feel for being recognised for your work?
I'm happy that serious personal work published on social media is still taken quite seriously :)
