Author’s Reflection

What is your personal takeaway from your SOAP story?
Though fear and anxiety are ever-present in a pandemic, there are strategies we can apply to keep them in check.

Now that your story has been published for some time, do you have any reflections to share post-publishing?
We are all ordinary folks trying to make sense of the extraordinary times we live in. We are all doing our best. Maybe the best way through this pandemic is to think and act in solidarity with others in our community, showing care and support wherever we can. Maybe this is how we grow.

What did you hope to convey to readers through this story?
That it’s normal to worry and be anxious for a time, but to always choose hope in the end.

How do you feel for being recognised for your work?
I feel grateful...It’s an unexpected joy.
